Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and imaginative Storyboard Artist to join our NEANDERTHAL CODEX creative team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong artistic vision, a deep understanding of storytelling techniques, and the ability to translate scripts and concepts into compelling visual narratives. As a Storyboard Artist, you will play a crucial role in the development of our developing media franchise, working closely with directors, writers, and designers to bring stories to life through dynamic and visually engaging storyboards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Visual Storytelling: - Create detailed and visually appealing storyboards that effectively communicate the narrative flow, character emotions, and key actions of scenes. Translate scripts and concepts into a series of dynamic visuals that capture the essence of the story and enhance the overall production process.
2. Collaboration: Work closely with directors, producers, and other creative team members to understand the vision and requirements for each project. Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas that enhance storytelling and visual presentation.
3. Scene Development: Develop storyboards that reflect the pacing, timing, and transitions of scenes, ensuring a coherent and engaging narrative structure. Incorporate feedback from team members and stakeholders, making revisions as necessary to align with the overall vision of the project.
4. Technical Proficiency: Utilize industry-standard software and tools (Adobe Creative Suite, etc) to create polished storyboards and visual presentations. Maintain organized files and documentation of storyboard revisions and versions to facilitate smooth communication and collaboration within the team.
5. Research and Reference: Conduct research to gather visual references and inspiration that enhance the storytelling process and align with the project's themes and styles. Stay updated on industry trends, techniques, and technologies related to storyboard artistry and visual storytelling.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Animation, Fine Arts, Film, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Proven experience as a storyboard artist in the film, television, or video game industry, with a strong portfolio demonstrating your artistic and storytelling skills.
- Exceptional drawing and illustration skills, with a keen eye for composition, perspective, and character design.
- Proficient in digital storyboard creation tools and software, with a strong understanding of animation principles and cinematic techniques.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to articulate ideas clearly and constructively.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
- A passion for storytelling and a deep understanding of narrative structure, character development, and visual pacing.
