Position Overview:

Are you a passionate storyteller with a keen eye for narrative structure? Do you thrive on helping writers elevate their work and unlock the full potential of their stories? If so, we want you on our team! Macguffin Co. is seeking a talented Story Analyst to join our NEANDERTHAL CODEX team. In this role, you will be instrumental in reviewing scripts, providing crucial feedback to enhance story arcs, and improving overall narrative quality.

What You’ll Do:

- Script Review: Analyze draft scripts and treatments, assessing their narrative strength, character development, and market viability. Use your expertise to identify addiitonal projects that align with our company’s vision and goals. - Feedback & Development: Provide constructive feedback to writers, focusing on narrative structure, pacing, character arcs, and thematic elements. Collaborate closely with writers to help them refine their stories and maximize their potential. Share insights with the team to help shape our acquisition strategy and development process. - Collaboration: We are a highly collaborative virtual team. Work alongside producers, directors, and creative teams to brainstorm ideas and contribute to the development of new projects. Foster a supportive and open environment for creative discussions. - Research: Conduct thorough research on various genres, themes, and styles to inform your analysis and recommendations. Understand what makes a story resonate with different audiences.

You keep your finger on the pulse of what’s trending and what audiences are craving.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Film, Literature, Creative Writing, or a related field (or equivalent experience). - Proven experience as a story analyst, script reader, or in a similar role within the entertainment industry. - Strong knowledge of narrative structure, character development, and storytelling techniques. - Familiarity with scriptwriting software and industry-standard practices. - A portfolio showcasing your analytical work and feedback on scripts is a plus.
