Macguffin Co. today announced it has acquired publishing rights for “THE TURNBUCKLE BRIGADE,” by writer Jason Baldwin, and officially greenlit the World War II action/comedy synopsis for creative development. The project, which promises to blend the worlds of professional wrestling and historical adventure, will kick off creative development in January 2025.
Set in World War II, “THE TURNBUCKLE BRIGADE” tells the extraordinary tale of four professional wrestlers who are unexpectedly recruited for a top-secret special forces mission. Their task? To rescue the legendary Shroud of Turin from the clutches of the Axis powers before it can be weaponized to alter the course of history. With the fate of the world hanging in the balance, these unlikely heroes must navigate treacherous territories, confront formidable foes, and tap into their unique wrestling skills to save the day.
In a world where history and fiction blend seamlessly, “The Turnbuckle Brigade” offers a fresh perspective on both the glitz of the wrestling ring and the grit of wartime espionage. As these four wrestlers—each with their own distinct personalities, backgrounds, and wrestling styles—come together, they learn that teamwork, trust, and a good dose of humor can be just as powerful as any wrestling move.
