Isabella "Peanut" Zapata is a gifted yet socially awkward six-year-old with a dream of becoming a scientist like her auntie Carmen. Living on the 11th floor of an apartment building in San Diego, Peanut discovers a mysterious interdimensional war between tyrannical knots and fugitive strings from the 11th dimension. She must team up with Tyler, a sentient string and other escapees to stop the strings from unraveling the universe and destroying all of reality.
Peanut faces danger head-on as she becomes involved in the conflict between knots and strings. The strings have captured the leader of the Unknots, known as The Gordian Knot, who holds the secrets of the Universe. With Tyler's help, Peanut discovers that the strings are planning to destroy all of reality by untying all the knots that hold together the fabric of spacetime.
Peanut teams up with Dr. Cordel's former assistant, Leo, who was fired for his unorthodox ideas about string theory - theories that predicted exactly this comic battle between knots and strings. Together, they plan to free The Gordian Knot, stop the Unknots, and save humanity. As they execute their plan, Peanut's parents become involved when they witness the strings' powers firsthand. A team of scientists led by Dr. Cordel's former student, Aunt Carmen, arrives to help stop the interdimensional war.
However, the leader of the strings, a powerful being known only as the Unknot, reveals a new weapon that threatens to destroy all of reality. The team must race against time to stop the Unknot and save the universe from destruction.
In a dramatic confrontation, Peanut and Tyler face off against the Unknot and its minions. Leo uses his knowledge of string theory to create a device that can disable the knots' power. With Peanut's device and Leo's knowledge, they are able to free The Gordian Knot, defeat the Unknots and save the Universe from destruction. However, in the aftermath of the battle, Peanut realizes that the interdimensional war is far from over. She vows to continue fighting alongside her new friends and allies to protect the universe from any future threats.
